So going back to the shooting of Michael Brown. His death at the hands of a police officer sparked protests for months in Ferguson. Eyewitness accounts claimed that Brown was running away when he was shot, but a new autopsy report says that he was shot facing the police officer. The officer who shot Brown claims that he was pinned in his car and struggling over his gun with Brown and that's when he shot him.
I think that as more and more evidence comes out with the shooting, there is to many conflicting point on views. Witnesses report Brown was shot defenceless and running away while others say he was fighting and struggling with the officer and then shot as an act of self defence. I think that the truth is going to be hard to find and we may never know what it is.
I read an article that said the autopsy gave evidence that Brown had grabbed the gun...I'm tending to lean on the police forces side on this one.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I would like to think that I can trust the men and woman whose jobs it is to protect me, and my state.
DeleteI wish i could trust those that protect our country, but the reality of life is that we find, on occasion, that those we put our trust in, sometimes fail us. On this particular issue i agree with the stance of the two previously stated comments, but i also think it is better to be a little skeptical than to just follow our leaders and protectors naively.
DeleteIt is true that the truth may never come out. I think that in situations like these where opinions are so extreme we need to bring in an outside opinion into the case sooner so that we can limit the number of rumors that get spread.
