It's a fact that unemployment has gone down and is at it's lowest since the 90's, but there is some problems. Wages have stayed relatively the same which is bad. According to the article, less educated men are making less then what they would have 40 years ago. Most economists agree that to fix this, there needs to be more education and training in the workforce. It seems that Obama's new plan to make community college free would help resolve this issue.

What do you guys think? What's a good solution to fix this? More education? Or possibly higher minimum wage?

Two men were arrested in Canada on terrorism charges yesterday. The Canadian police said that Carlos Larmond, arrested at a airport in Quebec, was leaving to "participate in terrorist activities abroad". Ashton Larmond was also arrested at an Ottowa airport and was charged for facilitating terrorist activity. No more details of the case have been reported.

It's hard to tell if these guys were actually terrorists. They seem like they are related, so maybe they could be a terrorist duo team? Their arrests could have also been from paranoia due to the recent attacks in France. It's hard to tell right now but when more details come through it'll become clearer.

Today in Salt Lake City there was a death after a police confrontation. James Dudley Barker was approached by a police officer in response to calls from residents of the Salt Lake neighborhood. Barker was going door to door asking for money in exchange for shoveling sidewalks. The policeman asked what he was doing and Barker refused to tell him anything. The scene escalated quickly after Barker swung a shovel at the officer, which was all caught on a body-cam. Another hit broke the camera and ended the footage and a moment later the officer fired his weapon, killing Barker. Barkers neighbors describe him as a kind and normal guy that didn't show aggressiveness. His criminal record showed that he was arrested in December of 2013 for disturbing the peace and failing to give police his identity. Most believe the officer, who sustained many broken bones, was in the right because he was defending himself from an non aggravated assault. Despite this there are planned protests from Utahns Against Police Brutality.

I think that it is sad that the man lost his life. I watched the footage and it seems that the officer stepped forward to try and calm the guy down. It's hard to tell though and some speculate the officer pushed him, which caused him to attack. It don't really know what side of the story to believe. Let me know what you guys think.

Today in Michigan there was a crazy accident. A car hit the back of another after sliding on ice and hit the car in front of it. This domino effect continued for some time and resulted in a 123 car pile up. A semi-truck carrying fireworks exploded after several car, including the truck, caught on fire. Another truck carrying 44,000 pounds of hazardous waste crashed and spilled its contents which caused an evacuation of the area. 23 people were hospitalized and there was 1 fatality due to the crash.

There isn't much to comment about political about this very strange accident, (except maybe there should be safer ways to transport hazardous materials?) but I thought it was a story that was share worthy.
The Anti-Islam protests in Germany have gotten as large as 18,000 people which has many European Muslims scared after recent events in Paris. These protests are backed by many anti-immigration political groups throughout Europe and they're gaining support in the polls. These groups have been using the recent attacks as "evidence" that those who "ignored the looming danger of Islamism were wrong". Others have said that Europe is at war and the west needs to go through "deIslamisation". Muslims in Italy have been criticized for "imposing a way of life that is not compatible with ours" by an anti-immigration politician. Some moosques have also been closed in Italy. Officials in Rome have said that there will be no anti Islam banners at the cities soccer games as it might become a target if it does. Muslims in Germany have committed to pray for the victims in the Paris attacks and have asked   Christian churches to join.

I think that this is very sad and unfair for Muslims in Europe. Those terrorist used their personal religion to justify the killing of innocent people which all of European Muslims must be punished for when very few are actually terrorists. I just hope that things will begin to cool down and that people will stop blaming all Muslims for the actions of few.
A man eating McNuggets was startled after what appeared to be a piece of vinyl was found in one of the nuggets in a restaurant in Tokyo. The piece of vinyl was lost after an employee tried to put it on a napkin but missed. The incident was reported 5 days after, so it's Ben difficult to tell where the object came from. A few days later another object was found in a nugget from a restaurant in Aomori. The company is looking into the supplier company in Thailand (which they switched to after their 1st supplier was found using rotten meat) to see if there is a possible connection between these 2 cases.

With foreign objects showing up more frequently in Japanese McDonalds, I think that it's pretty obvious that the government should do something. I don't know if it is the lack of laws or the lack of enforcement of laws to keep these type of things from happening, but the gov should do something about it.

http://www.cbc.ca/m/news/world/washington-school-shooting-2-dead-including-lone-gunman-1.2812380

So a very sad story today that some of you may have heard already. Marysville Pilchuk High school,in Washington, experienced a school shooting. It happened today during lunch time in the cafeteria. A student pulled out a gun and shot at least 3 others. The police have not released the shooters identity, but what I've seen on a twitter, it was reported that shooter was the schools Homecoming Prince. President Obama has been notified and may adress it tonight.

This will certainly spark up a gun control issue debate. Its seems as more and more time goes past, the more and more school shootings happen. What are your guys take? Should it be harder for people to get guns? Should there be sanity tests?
